Pre-K - 5th Grade
OVCN Sports takes the focus away from the scoreboard and places it on things that truly matter like team work, skill building, and community. We focus on what it means to live a life of faith and place your hope and trust in Jesus Christ.
Kids 4 years old – 5th grade are invited to play:
- Flag Football in the fall
- Cheerleading in the fall
- Basketball in the winterÂ
- Soccer in the spring

**NEW OVCN RUNNING CLUB**
Run the Race is a running club for 3rd-5th graders that focuses on what it means to live a life of faith and place your hope and trust in Jesus Christ through running.
What to expect:
- An eight-week training program
- Two practices a week: Mondays from 5:30-6:30 starting 8/5 and Saturdays from 9-10 am starting 8/10.
- The kids are training for the 1-mile fun run at Sabino Canyon on Saturday, September 28th.
- Location: OVCN
- Cost is $25 and includes a shirt and registration fees for the fun run.
During practices, Head Coach Brian will demonstrate different jogging, running, sprinting, pacing, and other techniques as well as stretching, nutrition, and journaling.Â
Basketball
Registration for basketball is open now, but don’t wait – spots fill FAST! Â Season begins on Nov 2 with Training Day and ends on Feb 1 with a celebration.Â
- Practices are Tuesdays for 3rd-5th graders (starting 11/5) and Thursdays for K4/K5 and 1st/2nd graders (starting 11/7) from 5:30-7pm.
- All practices and games will be at Coronado K-8. 3401 E Wilds Rd, Tucson, AZ 85739
- All teams are co-ed.
- Cost (including uniform) is $110.
- No practices or games Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s weeks.

Soccer
Registration opens in February, the season starts in March and lasts eight weeks. It ends with an Awards Celebration in the OVCN Sanctuary. Teams practice once a week and games are on Saturday mornings. All teams are co-ed.

Registration opens in June, the season starts in August and lasts eight weeks. It ends with an Awards Celebration in the OVCN Sanctuary. Teams practice once a week and games are on Saturday mornings. Flag football is co-ed.

Basketball registration IS OPEN
Kids 4yrs old – 5th grade are invited to play. Â Practices are Tuesday nights at Coronado K-8 and games are Saturday mornings at Coronado K-8. All teams are co-ed. The only equipment needed is tennis shoes.
**Please note that ASL Services are available for this league.
The last day to register is NOVEMBER 6, 2022Â and there will be no refunds after this date.
Evaluations are at Coronado K-8 on November 19.

COMMONLY Asked questions
IS OVCN SPORTS FOR ATHLETES ONLY?
No. We believe that all children deserve opportunities to be active, learn, and have fun! That's why our inclusive system ensures equal play time, no matter the skill level.
IS EQUIPMENT NEEDED?
Soccer requires shin guards and athletic shoes or cleats. Basketball and Cheer require athletic shoes and Flag Football requires athletic shoes or cleats. If your child has a ball to practice at home with, that will improve their skills exponentially, but this is not required.
All other equipment is provided by us.
WHAT'S THE COST?
All sports cost $110. There are no discounts available for siblings, but if you need financial assistance you can email [email protected]. 50% scholarships are available for a coach's or referee's child as well.
The registration fee includes a uniform.
ARE OVCN SPORTS FOR CHURCH MEMBERS ONLY?
N0! You do not have to attend services at OVCN to participate in our youth sports program. All kids in our community are welcome!
HOW ARE TEAMS SELECTED?
Each team should have an even mix of seasoned or skilled players and new(er) players if possible. If your child would like to play with a friend, please include this request on your registration form.
WHAT IS TRAINING DAY?
Training Day is one of the tools we use to help us create fair teams. Each child is invited to come and run through the available drills to help us assess their skill level.
HOW LONG IS A SEASON?
Typically each season lasts about eight weeks and ends with an Awards Celebration in the OVCN Sanctuary.
