OVCN Missions
We want everyone who calls OVCN home to look outside the four walls of our church. We desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to people in need in our own neighborhoods, and across the globe. We are a missions minded church! Opportunities are available to serve in our missions effort year round. Everyone is challenged to be a part of OVCN Missions. Now is the time to serve!
sew-a-thon 2024
November 2, 7:30am - 4:30pm
Make a difference in the lives of little girls around the world by helping create beautiful dresses for those living in poverty. For many of these girls, this is the first new dress they have ever received, and with it, they also hear the message of Jesus’s love!
Last year, our community came together to sew over 1,500 dresses that were delivered on mission trips to countries like Costa Rica, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Tanzania, and others through Operation Christmas Child.
feed my starving children
February 5-10, 2024
Join over 5,000 people from across Tucson coming to OVCN to pack meals for Feed My Starving Children! Â There are 20 different sessions available over 6 days.
Upcoming mission trips
NAVAJO NATION (NACA)
February 22-25
Help with several work projects including plumbing and minor electrical work, building demolition, drywall, painting and fencing…and of course, connecting with the incredible kids there!
ECUADOR
March 9-17
Play sports and connect with kids and their families, and/or those who have medical, dental, or optometrist backgrounds can help host clinics for locals who are struggling financially. Â Spanish speakers also needed!
KENYA/ETHIOPIA
June 6-21
In partnership with Unite4Africa – love on kids and families, share your faith story, and join in baptizing new converts from the Muslim faith whose lives are being totally changed by the power of the Gospel!
ALASKA
June 8-17
Assist with projects on the campsite, including rebuilding one of their cabins or finishing the dining hall and/or staff apartments. Looking for people with trade skills especially! A great trip for students and families.
COSTA RICA
July 5-13
Help run the first ever MEGA Sports Camp in Costa Rica and assist with the construction of a new, expanded sanctuary. Perfect for students and families to serve together!
SERVE OUR CITY
July 8-12
We have the opportunity to serve our city and make a lasting impact, through several different opportunities! Â Choose your day and your mission – there are 8 community partners you can serve with.
KYRGYZSTAN
July 18-30
Partner with a local organization specializing in providing leadership & human trafficking prevention skills in schools, supporting families with special needs children, and developing young leaders in the Church. Â
ROCKY POINT
October 24-27
Join us as we serve the people of Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, over an extended weekend this fall! Anyone is welcome to be a part of this team, as there will be lots of work and witness projects for everyone!

Gospel Rescue Mission Serving
Groups serve at Gospel Rescue Mission each week. You can join one of these groups regularly or just one time.
Caring Ministries Serving
Come serve at Caring Ministries any 4th Saturday. It’s open for any age, which makes it a great way for kids to serve in missions.
SnackPack Serving
Pack meals once a month for kids that would otherwise go hungry on the weekends across Tucson. We provide meals for almost 500 kids!

UNDERGROUND CHURCH
A unique opportunity to learn about what Christian life is like in areas where they are persecuted.Â
MILLION MEALS CAMPAIGN
Since 2013 we have purchased and packed nearly 6 million meals for children around the world – with the help of the Tucson community.  Our next mobile pack is February 2025.
DRESS A GIRL | SEW-A-THON
Dresses are sewn at OVCN and given to girls in need all over the world. The Sew-AÂ-Thon is a one day event in November with the goal of making 1,200 dresses. The next Sew-A-Thon is scheduled for November 2, 2024.
MissionS AT OVCN
Blessed Grounds @OVCN
All proceeds from the Blessed Grounds @ OVCN Cafe support our mission endeavors locally and around the world. Our affiliation with Blessed Grounds Mission Company in downtown Tucson allows them to use their profits in Tucson for outreach projects also. Blessed Grounds is open Sundays from 8-11:30 am and Wednesdays from 5:15-6:30 pm.
Snack Pack
We are concerned with the plight of hunger locally as well as globally, so OVCN partners with a dozen schools in the Tucson area to provide meals to children from low-income families every weekend. We are currently helping to feed over 600 kids weekly.
SEWING, QUILTING, CROCHETING & MORE
At OVCN we have three ministries where people can sew dresses, assemble quilts, and even knit/crochet items that are used through OVCN Missions at locations all over the world.  These teams meet monthly to build community as well as work on these items at home.
