sew-a-thon 2025
November 1, 7:30am - 4:30pm
Make a difference in the lives of little girls around the world by helping create beautiful dresses for those living in poverty. For many of these girls, this is the first new dress they have ever received, and with it, they also hear the message of Jesus’s love!
Last year, our community came together to sew over 1,500 dresses that were delivered on mission trips to countries like Costa Rica, Kyrgyzstan, Mexico, Kenya, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Tanzania, and others through Operation Christmas Child.

Join over 7,000 people from across Tucson coming to OVCN to pack meals for Feed My Starving Children! Â There are 20 different sessions available over 6 days.

Nogales, MX
December 13
A one-day trip to bless the children at the Casa Esperanza orphanage in Hermosillo with gifts collected during the Giving Forest. Gifts will be walked over the border and we will have lunch with their staff.
Navajo nation
December 13
A one-day trip to bless children in the Navajo Nation! Deliver gifts and help throw a Christmas party for the kids at the Native American Christian Academy and Naomi House Ophanage.
CHILE
February 27 – March 8 Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Help a local pastor & doctor treat patient at her clinic and construct the facility where the church will meet on their recently purchased property. Looking for people able to do basic construction and/or help with clinics.
JAMAICA
May 31 – June 7
Partner with Deaf Child Hope International, a ministry that provide hope for deaf children in poverty. Help with summer camp and opportunities for mental health professionals. ASL helpful, but not required.
Rocky Point
July 4-12
Partnering with the Los Angeles Church of the Nazarene, our team will help finish their new sanctuary, teach sewing classes to local women, and assist with a MEGA Sports Camp for kids.

Gospel Rescue Mission Serving
Groups serve at Gospel Rescue Mission each week. You can join one of these groups regularly or just one time.
Caring Ministries Serving
Come serve at Caring Ministries any 4th Saturday. It’s open for any age, which makes it a great way for kids to serve in missions.
SnackPack Serving
Pack meals once a month for kids that would otherwise go hungry on the weekends across Tucson. We provide meals for almost 600 kids!

Yearly Mission Events
MILLION MEALS CAMPAIGN
Since 2013 we have purchased and packed over 8 million meals for children around the world – with the help of the Tucson community.  Our next mobile pack is February 2-7, 2026.Â
UNDERGROUND CHURCH
An evening to uncover the realities of persecuted Christians worldwide—be inspired to strengthen your faith and stand in solidarity with those who risk everything to follow Christ. Coming October 2026.
DRESS A GIRL | SEW-A-THON
Dresses are sewn at OVCN and given to girls in need all over the world. The Sew-AÂ-Thon is a one day event in November with the goal of making 1,500 dresses. The next Sew-A-Thon is scheduled for November 7, 2026.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Help pack hundreds of Christmas gift shoeboxes for children in impoverished nations, in partnership with Operation Christmas Child.  This year’s packing event is Nov. 20 at 6pm in the Third Space.

GIVING FOREST
Select Christmas tags off of trees and provide Christmas gifts for 800+ children locally, on the Navajo Nation and in Mexico who are orphaned, refugees, homeless or foster kids!  Tags available on Christmas trees in the Third Space the morning of Nov. 24 and the evening of Nov. 27, and all gifts to be returned by Dec. 8.
MissionS AT OVCN
Blessed Grounds @OVCN
All proceeds from the Blessed Grounds @ OVCN Cafe support our mission endeavors locally and around the world. Our affiliation with Blessed Grounds Mission Company in downtown Tucson allows them to use their profits in Tucson for outreach projects also. Blessed Grounds is open Sundays from 8-11:30 am and Wednesdays from 5:15-6:30 pm.
Snack Pack
For many kids in Tucson, the end of the school week doesn’t just mean homework—it means hunger. Without school meals, weekends can be long and empty. Through SnackPack, OVCN partners with 20 local schools to send food home with children who would otherwise go without.
Every weekend, over 650 kids receive nutritious meals because someone cared enough to give. It takes just $200 to feed one child every weekend for the entire school year. Our goal is $117,000—and your help can make it happen.
Let’s make sure every child in our community knows they are seen, loved, and fed.
SEWING, CROCHETING & MORE
At OVCN we have ministries where people can sew dresses and knit/crochet items that are used through OVCN Missions at locations all over the world.  These teams meet monthly to build community as well as work on these items at home.
