Getting Baptized

Raised to Life with Jesus

Baptism is a powerful next step in your faith journey. It’s a public declaration that you’ve received the gift of forgiveness through Jesus, left behind your old life, and stepped into the new life He offers. Baptism is a beautiful symbol of identifying with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection—and we encourage every believer to take this important step of obedience and celebration.

Baptism FAQs

We’ve got you covered! We’ll provide a t-shirt for you to wear during your baptism. Just plan to wear shorts or pants that you’re comfortable getting wet in (modest length, please), and don’t forget to bring a change of clothes for afterward.

All baptisms at OVCN take place in our beautiful outdoor amphitheater. We celebrate baptisms every third Wednesday of the month. Once you register, you’ll get an email with all the details—but just know you’ll meet Pastor Genell at the Info Center at 7:15 PM on baptism night. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Absolutely! While we have a rotating schedule of pastors for each baptism night, you’re welcome to request a specific pastor when you register—especially if you have a personal connection with them. You can also ask someone special in your life, like a parent, grandparent, small group leader, or spiritual mentor, to baptize you. We’ll work with you to make it a meaningful moment!

Just one—saying “yes” to Jesus! Baptism is a public way to share that you’ve chosen to follow Him, love Him, and want to serve Him with your life. If that’s your story, you’re ready!
